Genesis is a passionate social media storyteller and digital content creator.

In her 8+ years of professional experience, she has helped businesses bring their brands to life through one-of-a-kind social media strategies. Her love for social media extends beyond creating content. She enjoys connecting people to places, things and experiences. Creating and sharing content that is original, authentic and valuable is her mission.

Genesis’ industry experience includes: hospitality, travel & tourism, nonprofit, CPG and retail. Prior to launching Social Mami, Genesis was spearheading Enjoy Illinois & The Westin Kierland’s social media marketing efforts while working as Social Media Manager at TimeZoneOne.

Genesis has a Master of Arts in Media Studies from DePaul University and a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology, with a minor in Communications and Gender & Women's Studies from The University of Illinois at Chicago. In 2019, she was named top three in the Publicity Club of Chicago’s “30 Under 30” List.

In her free time, Genesis (aka DonutMamii) enjoys food blogging. You can find her discovering the best bakeries and restaurants in Illinois and beyond. She will travel for food. Food blogging is what actually sparked her love for social media. She enjoys sharing her experiences while helping business receive some well deserved love on social.
